About Elaina Harper

Hello, I’m Elaina. I live in East Texas and write whatever comes out of my fingertips and onto the laptop. I believe stories should not be limited by current cultural trends, political correctness and groupthink. Instead, a story should be genuine, and take the reader on an authentic journey.

My latest novel, The Calling is available on Amazon and through other retail outlets.

MY BOOKS

A disillusioned priest, searching for change.

A high-end call girl looking for a way out.

What could go wrong?

Father Paul Wainwright drives the lonely backroads of Louisiana, haunted by inner demons and questioning his life choices after the funeral of four deaths he should have prevented.

Delia once dreamed of a glamorous life, but her reality as a high-end escort has left her feeling hollow. Walking away from her lucrative career isn't easy, especially when her family's well-being is at stake. Yet, she is desperate for a change.

When Paul and Delia's worlds collide, they form a powerful bond that threatens to implode under the weight of their secrets. Can Delia abandon the only life she's known to pursue something more meaningful? Will Paul confront his guilt and demons to embrace a happiness he believes he doesn't deserve? As their relationship deepens, they are forced to confront their hidden truths. Will their love survive the revelation of their secrets?

The Calling, is a compelling story of unexpected love and the search for true meaning in this modern world.

Reader Reviews

I'm not Catholic, but I know enough to know that clergy is not supposed to fall in love with anyone other than Jesus. This story could have easily fallen into seedy territory under a less-talented writer, but the author was able to create characters that I was rooting for the entire time, not a cringe in sight. Thank you, Ms. Harper, for that. I was able to sympathize with both Paul's and Delia's feelings, though I do not share many of their experiences. The book was well-paced, compelling, and enjoyable, and I'd recommend it to anyone, even my own mother (and in my world, that's the truest sign of a good book).
